Powerpoint text/link strikethrough or black out
Hey,
I am working on a jeopardy game for a work retreat, and need to figure out how to have power point either cross off, or black out questions that have already been viewed so the presenter doesn't have to keep track of the questions that have been chosen already. Does anyone know how to do this? It's the last thing I need to do, and I cannot figure it out. Thanks so much, Holiday |

I am using buttons to click on, not text. I have tried using an animation to
do it, the problem I run into is when I link back to that main page, I lose the animation. I can't keep it for every page. It's not remember what has been clicked and I can't think of a way to make it work any other way. I guess I'll just have to play around with it. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know. Thanks for your help! Thanks so much, Holiday This depends on what your links look like and what version of PowerPoint you are using. If your links to the questions are all hypertext links, then they should automatically change to the "Followed hyperlink" color in your color scheme, which should be all that you need. If they are buttons, then you can use trigger animations to do what you want. You will set an animation effect (possible an Exit animation to make the button go away entirely and possibly and emphasis animation to make the button change in some way) to be triggered by a click on the button itself. If you are using a version of PowerPoint that is older than 2002, you might have to do something different. --David -- David M. What do you mean, "I lose the animation." If you have a triggered animation,
it should happen when you click on the button. If you have a hyperlink back to the slide, whatever animation happened (such as an emphasis) should already have happened, and you should see the effect. The animation will only be reset if you advance to the slide from the previous slide. This will work; I'm just not sure from your description what you are doing wrong. --David On 8/3/09 3:11 PM, in article , "HolidayG" wrote: I am using buttons to click on, not text. Powerpoint text/link strikethrough or black out
I recently created a Jeopardy template which will do exactly what
you're asking (using buttons, not text). I used VBA Macros to make the button disappear when you click on correct or incorrect on the question slide (it automatically keeps track of scores). You're welcome to use my template, and I've kept the code open so anyone may use it and hopefully learn from it. See screenshots and download the template from: http://sites.google.com/site/dufmedi...for-powerpoint I'm not sure how much of your PowerPoint backbone you've already done, but if you'd like, you can also use my Excel template and then use my "Import from Excel" button to import all your questions, answers, and explanations. I hope you find this useful! Let me know if I can be of further help. Kevin |
