Insert > Picture : other images resize

windows xp, powerpoint 2002

When I 'Insert Picture' and find a file to insert, the
other images on the screen automatically downsize, and a
large 'Click to Add Title' text box comes on. This never
happened in the past, and I'm not sure why it is now.

Any help greatly appreciated.
