Default Can I 'link data to shape' from a spreadsheet on Sharepoint server

When I try to do this, Visio complains that I'm not allowed to use an
Internet address here. My visio doc and source data spreadsheet both live in
the same library and subfolder on Sharepoint, so is there another way to
accomplish this?
