Default how can I retrieve product key code if lost and computer crashed

I have microsoft office and home 2007. Our computer crashed and went back to
factory settings. Needless to say, I can't find the box it came in and don't
have the product code key.

Is there anyway to find or retrieve the code?

Assuming its a retail version and you have the receipt
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;326246

Otherwise an expensive mistake in losing the box / cd case

No, you will have to contact Microsoft.

"How to obtain a replacement product key
To replace a Microsoft product key, you must contact Microsoft Customer
Service and Support. To locate the appropriate telephone number, visit the
following Microsoft Web site:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...EN-US;CNTACTMS
(http://support.microsoft.com/default...en-us;cntactms)
Note When you contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support for a
replacement product key, you may have to pay a fee. You may also have to
provide information from your computer or from the product CD or DVD when
you are speaking to the customer service representative. "

But since the installation no longer exists and the box / cd is lost there
will be no information to give

That's why I copied the part about how to call them. They may have to buy a
new copy but it's worth the cost of a toll-free call to find out one way or
the other, isn't it?
