The Operation Failed because of a registry or installation problem
I tried adding the ability to send sms messages to my cell phone to Outlook
2007. Ever since I did that, I get "The operation failed because of a registry or installation problem. Restart Outlook and try again." message box when I try to access the accounts settings menu item. I've tried uninstalling Office, removing any office folders and registry entries and reinstalling but it still happens. I also uninstalled Office 2007 and installed Office 2003 and Outlook reacts the same way. I can't access Account Settings and Data File Management. Outlook won't Send/Receive and Reply and Forward won't work. At this point, the Outlook on my laptop is useless. Anybody have any suggestions? My next step is to backup everything and reinstall Windows XP. |

Steven:
Did you figure this out? I'm stuck at the same point, and very reluctant to reinstall my whole machine because of this evil problem. Thanks, Andy Steven T Cameron wrote: I tried adding the ability to send sms messages to my cell phone to Outlook 2007.
