drawing not appearing on screen - Publisher 2003

I had to reinstall Publisher some months ago. Since then many of my
documents simply dont show correctly on screen. In particular I can never
see the lines around text boxes - although they print perfectly OK. This
obviously makes it difficult to make changes! Any ideas? I have tried
varions screen resolutions, and all my drivers and software fixes are up to
date. Help!!

Look in the Accessibility Options folder in the control panel, Display tab,
uncheck high contrast.

Thanks for that, however the marker was already unchecked. I looked through
some backposts and have found switching off DirectX in the hardware
acceleration does resolve this - but it seems odd Publisher cant handle
that. Also it now means my games run like dogs..... -(

Actually, if you read my shouting and ranting in most of those threads,
you'll see that turning off DirectX in the hardware acceleration is NOT the
solution. It's the symptom. If turning off DirectX in the hardware
acceleration causes the problem to go away, then the actual problem lies
with the video driver. Nag your video card or motherboard (if the video is
integrated) manufacturer to produce better drivers.
