Outlook Express & MSN 9
MSN mail messages are stored on the server and not on the user's computer.
If he did not export his mail while MSN 9 was installed, he may be out of luck. If he terminated the account, the mail messages may have already been deleted from the server. Just another reason why we encourage people to read the instructions before removing programs. -- Jim Pickering, MVP-Outlook Express Please reply only to newsgroup. "Malok" wrote in message om... I just received a call from a friend who was using MSN 9. Apparently, it gave him the option a few months ago to transfer his data from Outlook Express into a new MSN 9 version of OE. This week he canceled his account with MSN and found that he could no longer access his e-mail or contacts. The MSN support people have given him the runaround and have not helped at all. Does anyone know if there is a way to recover this data and transfer it back into Outlook Express 6? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Malok |

Outlook Express & MSN 9
Thanks Jim for the prompt reply. You gave me exactly what I needed to know.
I'm disapointed to learn that all the messages are kept on an MSN server and not on the local computer. It doesn't seem right for users to lose control of their data but I guess there is nothing that can be done now. I'll let him know the bad news.
