making microsoft office programs as primary over microsoft works
I have both works and the 2007 home & student edition of microsoft office.
Works came on the computer and we don't want to delete it at this point, but I would like to set the microsoft office programs as the primary on my system. Fox example...when we download a doc. file from an email and you click on it works tries to open it and give you an error. Same with .xls, etc... How can I keep works, but make it secondary? I am running Vista. Thanks. |

making microsoft office programs as primary over microsoft works
Use Windows Explorer (Right click start and select explore)
Goto Tools Select Folder Options Select File Types (3rd from left top Tab) In here you can nominate the programme used to open a specific document. eg Ext opens with DOC Word 97-2003 format DOCX Word 2007 Format etc etc Select the extension type you wish to open and nominate the programme to open it. Hope this helps??????? Regards Mike B -- Advice to Posters. Check your post for replies or request for more information. Consider providing some feed back to the response you have recieved.
