Default blank page in report

Hi,

I am using access 97 to write a report to cross two pages for each
record. However I ends up getting 3 pages for each record and the 2nd page
is always blank no matter what I did. Can anyone please help? Thanks.

Open your report in design view. Go to File - Page Setup - Margins. Add up
the left and right margins and subtract that from 8-1/2". Look at the width
of your detail section; it is wider than that so the right side of your
report is flowing over to another page giving you the blank page.

most common cause of this is that your report design width is larger than the
printer setup page width (your paper width - your side margins is your
report width). however, it isn't always straight forward and was a problem
particularly with older versions of Access because even if you printer SAID
it had 8.5 inches width and your margins were 0.5" each if your report was
just exactly 7.5 inches wide you would get the "blank page" phantom. you
need to have your report 7.35 inches wide or some such. only fix i know is
to experiment with it!

how to test: put some label at the very right edge of your report. if it
prints on the second page then you have this problem and you can measure it
with a ruler and tell how much your report is too wide.
