Leaving messages on ISP's Computer
Hi:
I process my mail on my laptop so wish to leave input-message copies on the server when I read them on my desktop but can't find where to set the option. Guidance would be appreciated. John |

Are both machines using the same e-mail address? You can't do what you want
the way you want to do it. A workaround would be to BCC a copy to yourself. If both computers are using the same e-mail address, on both machines: Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced - Check: Leave a copy of messages on the server. On one machine, check to Delete messages after X days to assure the server does not get clogged up. If you want to do this often, on either, or both machines, create a Template. Open a New Message window and put your own address in the BCC field. File | Save As and save it to the Desktop. When you want to create a message that will send a copy to yourself, just click on the Desktop icon that was created and your address is already entered. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "John Williams" wrote in message ink.net... You want to read them with the laptop but not delete them from the server,
right? You set that up in Tools Accounts, select the account, and then the Advanced tab, and make sure none of the boxes to delete messages from the server are checked. The laptop will now read the messages without deleting htem from the server. Then set the desktop to whatever works for you. Test it out be sending yourself emails and reading them from each machine.
