Default Why does Outlook say it is sending five messages when I only sent

I only have one message prepared to send, but when I click on Send/Receive
the progress details across the bottom bar of the window tell me that Outlook
is sending multiple messages (sometimes five, sometimes three). Should I have
any virus or privacy concerns here? This only seems to happen when I send
messages with photos attached and click Send/Receive while the progress
details at the bottom still read "preparing to send". Again, privacy concerns
here. Has anyone else seen something similar? Does anyone have an explanation
or advice? Scanned the pictures sent with our Virus/Spyware software; nothing
found. Thanks.

I doubt there's any malware.

What version of Outlook? How many accounts do you have defined?

Outlook 2007. Three accounts set up. Could it be an artifact of sending
multiple picture attachments and clicking "Send/Receive All" immediately when
the Send Message window closes? I just sent the same kind of message I had
previously emailed and waited; this time there were no "Sending 3 of 3" or
"Sending 5 of 5" message at bottom.

Outlook 2007 has a cosmetic bug that causes it to misrepresent the number of
messages being sent, counting the number of accounts you have along with the
number of messages. You can see "3 of 3" if you have one message and three
accounts. You can see "5 of 5" if you have two messages to send and three
accounts.

i have a similar problem, sometimes it says i am sending more messages than
others but it doesnt correspond with the number of email accounts i have.
for instance, this morning i have no messages to send, but it says its
sending 4. i have 3 email accounts.
other times it adds just one mystery message.
did you find out how to correct this?
