Outlook 2007 makes PC run slow
Outlook 2007 with Win XP SP3 runs extremely slow. I've tried the fixes of
re-naming the files recommended, but it didn't fix the problem. Outlook seems to initiate some indexing processes that thrash the disk and stop or slow down everything else. It has even locked up the PC and forced a reboot. If it is an indexing problem, can indexing be eliminated? Will it hurt anything to stop the indexing? I'm only using the contacts part of Outlook and have thousands of contacts, so a re-install wouldn't be toooooo feasible. TIA |

Its not outlook indexing, but it could be the win search tool
Check in Control Panel for Indexing Options applet and if neccessary modify to remove outlook from the indexing. Uninstall/reinstall of outlook has no impact on the outlook data file PS I assume you backup the data file? "Joe Palazzo" wrote in message ... Outlook 2007 with Win XP SP3 runs extremely slow.
