PIVOT TABLE PROBLEM
Hello everyone,
I got a little problem with the pivot table report cause each time I do one, there some decimals that get add up some of my numbers like in my Grand total, I'll have 3927376.69000001 but when i'll double click on it, it gives me the sheet containing my informations that adds up to 3927376.69 . Is this a bug or is my computer good for maintenance ? Can you please help me with this situation ? Thx a lot ! |

its my guess you've found a lingering excel bug, which has
been around for awhile it occassionally causes problems way out in deep decimal places. In those cases, I simply round my results to the 4th decimal place and that cleans it up. In your case if you showed more decimal places in your source sheet you'd probably also see the distant "1". -----Original Message----- Hello everyone, I got a little problem with the pivot table report cause each time I do one, there some decimals that get add up some of my numbers like in my Grand total, I'll have 3927376.69000001 but when i'll double click on it, it gives me the sheet containing my informations that adds up to 3927376.69 . Hi
this is not a bug (and especially not an Excel bug). This 'error' can be found in all computer programs doing floating point arithmetics.
