It isn't just when I am printing the pdf. The page numbers don't show up on
the screen when I view the pdf file, either. "Sue" wrote: a hlf inch from the edge. THey print just fine using the publisher file, but not when I convert to pdf in order to mail them to our members. Footer from Master page not converting to PDF
I just clicked the pdf icon on my Publisher 2003 program. THe document is a
volunteer club newsletter and we would like to do it just using Publisher and not have to buy Adobe Acrobat, too. We will be changing to Publisher 2007 next year and hope to use the conversion tool to change it to pdf so we can email it to our members. "Mary Sauer" wrote: Are you using Adobe Acrobat? There are other PDF converters, many are free. www.primopdf.com is mentioned
here a lot. Again, page numbers will not print if you have *Ignore Master Page* checked in the View menu. -- Mary Sauer http://msauer.mvps.org/ "Sue" wrote in message ... Footer from Master page not converting to PDF
"ignore master page" on publisher is not checked. Also when adobe acrobat professional opens the pdf that I created by clicking the pdf icon in publisher I have the option of Editundo headers and footers. Whether it is checked or unchecked, no page numbers appear. Thanks so much for your efforts, Mary--By suggesting I use freeware, I assume you implying I should give up the idea of Publisher putting the page numbers on the pdf? THe capability to convert to pdf is the main reason we were going to purchase a new version of Publisher. I guess there is no sense in that. Footer from Master page not converting to PDF
The Ignore Master Page is not checked in Pub. In Acrobat I have tried Edit
headers and footers at both the on and off settings and the page numbers don't show up either way. Mary, thanks for your help and for the suggestion to try another pdf maker. It's disappointing, tho, that I am not able to use that feature of MS Publisher. "Mary Sauer" wrote: There are other PDF converters, many are free. www.primopdf.com is mentioned here a lot. Footer from Master page not converting to PDF
Hello Sue,
When you go to Print, if you select the Adobe PDF rather than using the icon on the menu, does it make a difference? My add-in was disabled long ago from the menu because it caused problems with Publisher, but the AdobePDF worked flawlessly. I only know my page numbers always print. The reason I suggested a different PDF converter, I wasn't familiar with the term PDFmaker. I did look at my disabled com add in items and discovered Acrobat was called PDFmaker. Sorry I lead you astray. -- Mary Sauer http://msauer.mvps.org/ "Sue" wrote in message ... The Ignore Master Page is not checked in Pub. Footer from Master page not converting to PDF
YES!!! That worked. Fiile Print Adobe PDF saves the file with the footers
but oddly, will not print it. I had to use the saved copy and select Print in the Adobe screen to get a printed copy. Still, very doable. Thanks so much. I never would have tried Print when what I wanted to do was SAVE it as pdf.
