Default Error saving Design changes

After adding any change to a form and then clicking to save the following
happens:

Msg:
Do you want to save changes to the design of form "Parts"?
Respond by clicking "Yes"

Msg:
Microsoft Access has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
Respond by clicking "Close Button"

Next time you start Access 2003 a message appears wanting you to save your
application.
AppName_Backup
After clicking Cancel or Save Access will start OK

This started several days ago and I have not heard from Microsoft.
I suspect the registery has an error in it, so I uninstalled and reloaded
Access 2003.
This did not help.
Thanks in advance for any ideas someone comes up with.

The database may have some corruption. Have you tried compacting it?
Also saving the form to a text file using SaveAsText and loading it
back in using LoadFromText can help. Google for these two officially
undocumented functions.

Thanks Tom for feedback.

I did Compact and tried SaveAsText.
SaveAsText gave me an error, so I started deleting controls and buttons
until I narrowed the corruption to 2 Combo Boxes.

After deleting Combo Boxes and re-inserting new ones, the form quit giving
me errors when saving. I never could figure out why the combo boxes were
causing the problem.
