Default A Tricky Comment Balloon Issue

I receive documents from Iraq to edit. I make sure that no Arabic formatting
is included when it is sent to me. However (and I don't know if this has
anything to do with Arabic formatting), the Comment balloon that pops up when
I click on Insert Comment doesn't work correctly. The word "Comment" is in
the balloon, but the text I type starts to the left of the word "Comment" and
types backwards. Send any and all ideas, please. Thank you so much.

This is just a guess, but worth checking...

Open the Styles and Formatting pane. Right-click the Comment Text style (if
you can't see it in the list, click the Show dropdown, select Custom, and
put a check next to it in the "Styles to be visible" list) and choose
Modify.

In the Modify Style dialog, check the Add To Template option. Then click the
Format button and choose Language. Make sure the selected language isn't
Arabic or any other right-to-left one.

There might be other places where right-to-left is still hiding, so this may
not be a cure-all. This page may help:

Jay: Thank you for the tip. I thought for sure that would be the answer, but
it didn't work. Also, I got as far as Modify, and discovered I didn't have
Modify on my screen (Windows XP). I found another way to discover the
language, however, so I did learn something. I just can't figure this issue
out, and have had trouble with it for way too long. I am truly appreciative
of your effort, nevertheless :---}

If you also look at the language settings for the Balloon Text style, does
that help?

If you right-click (assumes that your mouse is set up for a right-handed
user) the style name in the Styles and Formatting pane (called the Styles
pane in Word 2007), you should see Modify on the context menu.

Are you saying that you cannot find the Modify command or that it doesn't
work?
