Default Pivot Chart Time Series work around?

i'm running with Excel 2002 sp2.
I'm now aware that a time series x-axis is not available in a pivot chart.
Maybe there's a way of getting pivot chart flexibility AND a time series
x-axis by other methods?

Default Pivot Chart Time Series work around?

While you can't do a true XY scatter chart as a pivot chart, there are a
couple of options in 2007 that might work for you.
1) use a line chart, there is now support for date-based azes (check in
formatting if it has been correctly selected). This overcomes previous
limitations where data points were not spaced evenly, but does not
overcome issues if they are not sorted by date.
2) in a blank area of your worksheet, make a mirror copy or the
PivotTable as a straight =A3, =B3...,=A4... Either leave this dynamic
(best option) or copy paste special "values". Do your chart from this
copy, with no restrictions on type.

Hope this helps
Adam
