Default Processor utilization

The only program that was running was Word. I pulled up the utilization monitor and the usage
dropped to 0%. I flipped back over to Word and it jumped back to 100%. The spell check had
already finished with the document.

Does anyone have an idea what Word is doing when it should be idle? Any thoughts on a
remedy?

Thanks.

Did you look to see if it was Word that was using 100%? When you first open the Task Manager it will be on or around 100% as it's gathering in information for everywhere. If it was Word you sould see it saying Word.exe PID and then CPU. If that CPU figure was at 100% then it was word.
