Publisher on Vista 64 bit
I have Publisher 2002 on a Win 2K desktop. I just bought a laptop with Vista
64-bit and just got a new job. The job requires me to have Publisher on my laptop. (I love the Vista, by the way. It works flawlessly.) Q 1: Can I upgrade my current Pub to 2007 to use on my laptop? I bought the 2002 and installed it on my Win 2K desktop system. Q 2: I'm upgrading the desktop to Win XP. Will that run Pub 2002? 2007? Q3 (the big one): Can I run Pub 2007 on my Vista 64 bit? If not, WHAT CAN I DO??? Please help. I really need to figure this out to do this job. |

Publisher 2007 will work on Vista 64 bit. Publisher 2002 should work too. All
versions of Publisher will work on Windows XP. -- Mary Sauer http://msauer.mvps.org/ "Ducklady" wrote in message ... I have Publisher 2002 on a Win 2K desktop. Publisher on Vista 64 bit
Dear Ms. Sauer,
Thank you so much. Now, I hate to sound like the suspicious sort but I'm not terribly computer savvy and don't want to find myself in a swamp. Do you think Pub 2002 will install without incident on my Vista 64 or would I be wise to have my computer maintainer guy install it? I just read so many postings that refer to work arounds that I know I can't do. If a work around is likely, I'll have Dan, Dan the Computer Man do it. If it's a simple install I can do it myself. Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I really appreciate it. Now to find my Pubby discs... Ducky "Mary Sauer" wrote: Publisher 2007 will work on Vista 64 bit. Publisher 2002 should work too. Your Publisher program should install the same way all your programs install. If
you are more comfortable with your Maintainer Guy installing for you, go with it. To what workarounds are you referring? Surely not a Publisher 2002 installation. -- Mary Sauer http://msauer.mvps.org/ "Ducklady" wrote in message ... Dear Ms. Sauer, Thank you so much. I've read a lot of posting about other programs and Vista, not Pubby. I am
most encouraged by your advice. I'm going to find my discs and try this installation over the weekend. I'll let you know how it sugars off. Thank you so much. ducky "Mary Sauer" wrote: Your Publisher program should install the same way all your programs install. Publisher on Vista 64 bit
Ms. Sauer,
I can't believe I've been living without my Pubby for so long! Thank you so much. The installation was as easy as any other, except for a message in the beginning that talked about Win XP, with no mention of Vista. That would definitely have stopped me from proceeding further had you not assured me I could install Pubby on my Vista. I would have been afraid of gumming up the works. Thank you so much. I had my first day on the new job yesterday and spent the afternoon happily working on their newsletter on my laptop--using Publisher. I really appreciate your help. I'm pleased to know all went well for you. You are the first poster I have come
across that uses the term "Pubby". Let us know if you need help with your publications. -- Mary Sauer http://msauer.mvps.org/ "Ducklady" wrote in message ...
