Opening Screen in 2007
Using Office 2007
When one of my users open Publisher, she sees a "Getting Started With Publisher" screen when she must choose "blank page size" and then navigate through all the blank page sizes that are available to find the standard 8 1/2 by 11. This happens every time she launches Publisher. Another user opens Publisher and immediately has a blank page that is 8 1/2 by 11 and is ready for typing. I have looked under Tools / Customize and Tools / Options to find the place to uncheck the getting started screen as the opening screen. Cannot find what I'm looking for, so I'm obviously looking in the wrong place. How can I configure Publisher 2007 so that when it is opened, the user immediately sees a screen ready for input? |

Uncheck *Show Publication Types when starting Publisher* in the Tools menu.
The *Format Publication* task pane is always on the opening screen. It can be closed or minimized. If you minimized the task pane (it is a tear off), Publisher will remember this the next time you open the application. -- Mary Sauer http://msauer.mvps.org/ "BK" wrote in message ... This sounds like what I'm looking for, but I cannot find it. There is
nothing in the Tools menu that says "Show Publication Types when starting Publisher" in version 2007. Should I be looking somewhere else for this checkbox? We are not having a problem with the Format Publication task pane that is visible. It's the other one we'd like to turn off. "Mary Sauer" wrote in message ... Never mind. I just found it on the "general" tab in Tools Options.
