Creating and Additional Address Book Type in Outlook 2003
I have a need to link Outlook 2003 to a contact database. I believe this
should be possible by creating an "Additional Address Book Type" but I can't find any documentation on how to do this. In Outlook 2003, if one clicks Tools, Email Accounts, selects Add a new directory or address book, and then selects Additional Address Books, one is shown a list of Additional Address Book Types. I believe I should be able to create an additional address book type that contains all the code to link to my contacts database and list the contacts in the correct format. I believe this because it is done by other contact databases, notably ACT! Can anybody point me in the right direction? Many thanks, Ax |

Creating and Additional Address Book Type in Outlook 2003
An "Additional Address Book Type" would be a MAPI address book provider,
created with C++ or Delphi and the Extended MAPI programming interface. Not for the faint-hearted. See http://www.slipstick.com/addins/groupcontacts_mapi.asp for existing MAPI providers that can provide this connectivity to some standard databases. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Microsoft Outlook 2007 Programming: Jumpstart for Power Users and Administrators http://www.outlookcode.com/article.aspx?id=54 "Ax" wrote in message ...
