Full Office 2007 install on previous 2003
I have a question. I have a PC with Office Pro 2003. I cannot find my install
disc. I have a new laptop that I want to transfer my emial to and want Office Pro 2007 on it. What is the migration path to do this without damaging my pst or loosing data? Should I buy Office Pro 2007 full (or upgrade) and install on the 2003 office install? Will installing office pro 2007 on a machine with Office pro 2003 mess up the curent 2003 office install or will it upgrade it to 2007? I cannot find this answer anywhere. |

An Office upgrade is not much good to you unless you have the qualifying
version cd, as if you need to install it again you wont be able to (without the earlier version) Uninstalling or installing an upgrade does nothing to your data, but as allways backup of data is allways wise "sdmusicmaker" wrote in message ... The basic answer was to have backups of data.
You copy your data (pst files) with Outlook closed to documents folder of new PC Install whatever version of outlook, configure outlook, then open that pst(s) within outlook "sdmusicmaker" wrote in message ... you did not answer my questions? If you don't have the install disc for the version you have, you will need to buy a full version for your new machine. The Upgrade version will demand to see the current installation, or the installation disc. Since you're installing on a new machine, the current installation will not be found, therefore the installatin disc will be required. IF the new machine has Works, then you can upgrade from it. You'll need to visit the Microsoft Website for a patch so that Office will recognize Works .... |
