I am trying to install Office 2007 Enterprise, and yes, the windows
desktop experience feature is installed on the VM w2k8 server (x32 SP2).
Another issue is that I can shrink the VM but cannot expand it. Is there
anything I should edit in the .vmc xml file?
The host is Vista Business x32 SP2, but other VM work ok.

Thank you,

Hello NewIT,

Which Office version do you try to install? Is Windows desktop
experience isntalled on the 2008 server?

Office 2007 does not install on Server 2008 Virtual Machine. No
problem when installing it on Server 2003 Virtual Machine.

Any help will be appreciated!

If you mean by "expand" the vm that you want to increase the capacity of
the vhd, you cannot. Once created, the vhd cannot be changed in that way
any more than you could a physical hard drive. You can create a larger
vhd and image the old vhd to the new one, however, just like you would
when swapping in a newer, larger physical hard drive.

Sorry, I was not clear. I meant expanding the actual window of the VM.
It's very annoying, can make it smaller, but not bigger.

Increasing the resolution from within the guest will increase the size of
the vm window.

Thanks, that did the trick, but drag and drop from the host to the guest
does not work any more. Any ideas, Please?

Change the screen resolution of the VM guest. Higher resolution = larger
screen.
