Default Word Cannot Open Data Source

I recently converted a database from Access 97 to Access
2000. When I try to do a mail merge in Word using a
Access query, I get "Word Cannot Open the Data Source".

Hi Dave,

I recently converted a database from Access 97 to Access
2000. When I try to do a mail merge in Word using a
Access query, I get "Word Cannot Open the Data Source".

And which version of WORD are you now using? (And is this
2000 or 2002 - makes a BIG difference!)

Hi Dave,

OK, then it's not a "simple" answer...

Are you able to link to a table?

Do you get this message with any query, or just certain
ones?

If this is query-specific, is this a query that used to work
in Office 97? Or is it a new one? If a new one, what's
special about it?

If you activate the "Select method" checkbox in the Open
Data Source dialog box you should be able to use ODBC as a
connection method. And then click "Options" and choose
"Views" to see the queries as well as the tables. Can you
link to the query now?

I'm using Word 2000.
