Total number of pages in mail merge document per document
In a mail merge document, with a header (or footer) listing page x of y total pages, I cannot get the "y of total pages" number to be the total number of pages for each, individual merged letter, and not for the doument as a whole. The "x page" correctly displays the page number of each individual letter in the merged document (for example in a 3 page letter, with page one suppressed, the first letter to John Doe reads page 2 of y, the next page reads page 3 of y (where y should equal a total page count of 3). However, if there is a total of 10 recipients, my "y of total pages" is reading page 2 of 30, page 3 of 30 in each merged letter. I have tried to correctly set this in File, Page Layout to account for the section breaks, but I must not be doing something incorrectly. Any help greatly appreciated, thank you.

Total number of pages in mail merge document per document
Hi Ava,
In the mailmerge main document, toggle on the field codes (Alt+F9) and replace the { NUMPAGES } field that you will see with { SECTIONPAGES }. -- Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis. Hope this helps Doug Robbins - Word MVP "Ava Healy" wrote in message ...
