Default Using Visio in Word or Excel

I need to export Visio diagrams to either Word or Excel so users w/out Visio can review the charts in either format and print them if necessary. Right now, when they print, they are only seeing the outlines of the Visio symbols and none of the text. Any help you can offer would be much appreciated.

I experience the same problem as there are few users in my
company with Visio. My solution is not Word or Excel but
instead, Powerpoint. You can easily copy/paste to ppt,
hope this helps!

Another option is to select what you want to copy (Control A selects all); then copy (with a Control C) and paste into Excel or Word (with a Control V).
Hope this helps - would love to hear if there's another option!

In Word 97 and Excel 97, I've had good results using
Insert Object Create from file
Browse to select the Visio file with the diagram of interest.

I have the same problem and no answer is satisfying to me. I use Visio 2002 at the office and 2003 at home. My visio pages print well from Visio, but when I copy the schemas in a word document, some of them, not all, only print the outline of the shapes and not the text they contain.

I must solve this problem or I'am fired.

Thanks for your help.

By the way, where in the menu is the option Layer? I am working with the french versions of Visio.

The problem is actually a Visio problem. You will need to get a Visio fix patch. This problem only happens with certain types of printers. I don't have the information with me. It is at home. I will bring it tomorrow. Once our seat managment installed the fix from microsoft, everything started to work just fine. Contact Microsoft for the fix patch....or whatever they call it.

Hi Nancy,

I thing you're right. That is a Visio bug. I stopped working on that problem
for a while but will have to resume on the next few days. I will see if I can
find the patch from Microsoft and try it out. If it works, I will let
everyone know.

Thank you again for you time.
