Default Deleted a folder and wish to undue

I have in the past and again today deleted a complete folder when I ment to
delete just a message. It is far to easy to delete a folder as the process
is the same. anyway, how can one undo or retreive a folder once you have
deleted it?

First, make sure it isn't in the Deleted Items folder. If it is, just drag
it out. If not, make sure it still exists in the Outlook Express dbx files.

ToolsOptionsMaintenanceStore folder will reveal the location
of your Outlook Express files. Press the Tab key to highlight the folder
location, then Ctrl+C. Close OE, then StartRunCtrl+V will put the location
in the box - Click OK and you'll see the OE files. Otherwise, write the
location down and navigate to it in Windows Explorer.

In WindowsXP &2K, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default
marked as hidden. To view these files in Explorer, you must enable
Show Hidden Files and Folders under StartControl PanelFolder
OptionsView.

In Windows Explorer, click on the file and drag it to the Desktop. Open OE
and create a folder with the *exact* same name as the one on your desktop.
***Copy a message from any folder to the new one. ***You MUST do this.***
Close OE. Go back to Windows Explorer and Click Desktop and drag the folder
from the Desktop to the OE store folder that you clicked on to reveal the
..dbx files. Prompt - "Do you want to overwrite......."? Click Yes.

If you deleted it and its not listed under the deleted items folder, then
its gone. You might be able to recover the messages using DBXpress and its
extract from disk function (www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/). In the future, the
best way to avoid doing this is to disable the folder list via View |
Layout. Just enable the folder bar and then the list will drop-down, but
its very difficult to delete a folder with that layout.
