Default Multiple shapes text editing

I am using Visio to create web wireframes for functional specifications. Each
shape is a form element with an Id (eg ED.RO-1, ED.RO-2) and name (eg
SRCABN-LNK).
If I insert (or forget!) an element which should go between ED.RO-1 and
ED.RO-2, I then need to renumber ED.RO-2 onwards. As a form may have quite a
few elements on it, this can be quite time consuming as I need to double
click each shape and retype part of the text.

Is there an easier way to change the text in a lot of shapes?

(One approach that seems intuitive to me is to be able to dump a 'property
sheet' which contained all the Visio information to a text file. I could then
use my text editor to change all these elements a lot quicker.)

I would try some VBA code to do a Find and Replace and start with the
largest value and work backwards
