Format Error Bars
I am comparing two sets of data with an xy scatter graph.
It has magnitude on the y-axis and frequency on the x-axis. Both series have custom sets of error bars. One is formatted pink and the other blue and they stand out nicely. The problem comes when I print. You cant tell which error bar belongs to which series as they look the same and are on top of each other. I have to photocopy the work so colour printing isn't really an option. Is it possible to format the little lines at the end of the error bars so that they are a different shape or something? |

Format Error Bars
Hi Andrew,
You could use additional data series to plot the end points of your error bars. The additional series would have their line property set to none, therefore only displaying markers. You may have to adjust the actual error values by use of cell formulas. Andrew wrote: I am comparing two sets of data with an xy scatter graph. Format Error Bars
Andrew -
In addition to Andy's suggestion, you could use a different line type for pink (dashed line) and for blue (solid line). - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP http://www.geocities.com/jonpeltier/Excel/index.html _______ Andrew wrote: I am comparing two sets of data with an xy scatter graph.
