Printing multiple copies
In August 2007, Aaron Rykhus of Microsoft replied to a post about this
problem that Microsoft was aware of the issue that you couldn't print multiple copies of a Visio document. I am experiencing this - see my post in microsoft.public.visio.printing. Is there a fix for this yet? A year seems like plenty of time to fix a problem you are aware of that is affecting multiple customers. |

My HP LaserJet can. Or print to a file, then print out that multiple times. -- Regards, Paul Herber, Sandrila Ltd. Electronics for Visio http://www.electronics.sandrila.co.uk/ |

Printing multiple copies
Excuse my ignorance, but how do you get a printer to do multiple copies
"internally"? This is how they try printing: in Visio, select File, Print, select the appropriate printer, set the number of copies, click OK. So, how do you do that "internally" on a printer? The printer in question is an HP Color Laserjet 5550dtn. The problem also occurs on an HP Laserjet 9040dtn. Asking the users to save to a file then print the file is just plain inconvenient - Microsoft really should be fixing this, seeing as at least a year has gone by. I wouldn't be surprised if the issue was a problem even before the post in August 2007. Microsoft, please fix this. That doesn't work??? Which version of Visio? I have V2007 and that worked
just fine, like you would expect. Wapperdude "Vaughn" wrote: Excuse my ignorance, but how do you get a printer to do multiple copies "internally"? Printing multiple copies
I just tried this by remotely VPNing into work--V2003 Pro, and that also
worked just fine -- two pages, two copies == 4 pages at the printer. Wapperdude "WapperDude" wrote: That doesn't work??? Which version of Visio? Printing multiple copies
It's Visio Standard 2003 and doesn't work on either an HP Color Laserjet
5550dtn or an HP Laserjet 9040dtn. I have two different users having the same problem. I just wish Microsoft would fix this. "WapperDude" wrote: I just tried this by remotely VPNing into work--V2003 Pro, and that also worked just fine -- two pages, two copies == 4 pages at the printer. Wapperdude |

I just wish Microsoft would fix this. It's probably something specific to your setup that is causing the printing problem. If it were a more general problem then it would have been reported more often. Do you have the latest drivers installed for the printers? What is different about the two users having the problem? Windows version? Patch level? Printer settings? -- Regards, Paul Herber, Sandrila Ltd. Electronics for Visio http://www.electronics.sandrila.co.uk/ |
