Default Outlook 2003 Won't Close

What would prevent Outlook 2003 from closing when I click the File - Exit? I
have tried clicking the top right hand X also, and the Outlook program
closes, except for the SysTray icon and the Outlook.exe in the Task Menu.
When I right click on the SysTray Outlook Icon and try to bring it up, it
will not let me open Outlook into a full window. I get the following error
message in a bubble: "Outlook is not responding. If you are using an Exchange
server email account, you can cancel pending server requests..." Since I
don't use Exchange I don't find that valid. I have re-worked my SRS file. I
have Yahoo! Desktop Search and Microsoft Personal Folders Backup installed
for Outlook. Save for those two, I have no addins installed for Outlook.

Some common reasons why Outlook will not shut down completely when you click
either the X or Exit:

1. PDA synchronization software with your PDA in the cradle.
2. WinFax Pro (especially 10.02 in Outlook 2003) - contact their support
for an alleged fix.
3. Franklin-Covey Plan Plus!
4. COM Add-ins.
5. Mail reminder add-ins that keep a stub of Outlook open in the background
to check for new mail and fire reminders.
6. Anti-virus/firewall programs that are set to scan incoming and outgoing
mail.
