Outlook is unable to use Word as the text editor. I followed the onboard
help instructions and reinstalled, but to no avail. What should I do next?

You should post some actual information.
Like your versions.
And what "onboard help instructions" you followed.

Ok. I'm using Microsoft Outlook 2002. The instructions I followed were at
the Microsoft website. I cannot remember the specific steps, but the
instructions were to reinstall if the instructions did not work. They
didn't, and I tried twice, so I did reinstall the entire product. It still
doesn't function properly.

There is no information here to permit any troubleshooting.
Tell us what you are trying and what happens when you try. Include any error
messages.
Verify that your Outlook and Word versions are the same.
