Font sizes
Hi,
I have an unusual question. How many lines of text can be placed in a inch high window for a 12 pt. font and does this depend on the font? Is there documentation that can explain how this is measured? Thanks in Advance, JeffH |

Hi Jeff
JeffH wrote: I have an unusual question. How many lines of text can be placed in a inch high window for a 12 pt. font and does this depend on the font? No, but it does depend on the leading (distance between two base lines of test). If you are using an exact leading (in Format | Paragraph), it's up to you only. If you use what Word calls "single", that's roughly 120% of the font height. One inch has room for 72 pt. Now you can do the math. :-) Is there documentation that can explain how this is measured? How big a pt is, that you can look up he http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Point Greetinx Robert -- /"\ ASCII Ribbon Campaign | MS \ / | MVP X Against HTML | for / \ in e-mail & news | Word |
