Linking Excel Tables in Access
Hi,
I want to link an excel table in access. I did that successfully but then a problem came up a bit down the road. The Excel table is located on a shared drive in the office (let's call the name of the drive BUSINESS). All of the employees have access to this BUSINESS drive, but the letter drive (G:, J:, H:, etc.) is varied throughout the employees. I'm not sure how/why it was setup like this, but that cannot be changed. When I linked the Excel table, I hit the Browse button to located it. Now the table that is linked, for example, is like this: G:\ExcelTable.xlsx So the database works fine on my account because the BUSINESS drive is G: on my account. However, when others try to open it, they don't have a G: drive. I guess my question is, how do I link a table without discriminating against the letter drive. I'm fairly new to Access so any details will help. Thanks! |

Linking Excel Tables in Access
Instead if linking to G:\Folder\dbname.accdb, link to
\\Servername\Folder\dbname.accdb That will be constant for all workstations on the network. -TedMi "zmenloans" wrote in message ... Hi, I want to link an excel table in access.
