Multiple step process to convert table in Word to XML
Hi all,
I think and hope that this can be done using regular expressions/ wildcards which I unfortunately did not quite grasp. I have a 3 column table in Word containing address book data. The ultimate format I'm trying to get them into is XML. I'll probably take several steps to first convert the data in the cells to the right format to enclose with the XML tags, and then wrap the cells in the XML tags. The cells in the 1st column contains data in this form - Alphabets [+Number]. How can I strip out the alphabets leaving just the [+Number]. Getting rid of the square brackets would be easy. It's the word(s) that are not encased in the square brackets that I want to get rid off. The cells in the 3rd column contains data and time info in this form - 01-Jan 00:00 AM. I've no idea how to approach this one man. The end target is this form - 2010-01-01 00:00. The year for all the dates is the same, so hopefully I can do a mass operation to add in the year as well. Is there any expression that would enclose the contents of the table cell in xml tags? E.g. To replace "entire cell" with Code:
Name entire cell /Name If anyone can point the way, it'll really help. Thanks, Jay |
