Default Double window opens

Whenever I open a office document, I get two windows opening. The first is
the actual document I need, the second is a blank page that's greyed out,
with no infomation on it. How can I stop this "ghost" window that oipens??

What version of Office are you using? Does that only happen when you open
the document from Windows Explorer or does it also happen when you open the
document by going to Word and doing File | Open...

Does it happen in Word and Excel and PowerPoint and...or just in one of
those?

Hi, it happens in office 2007, in all programs ( word, excel, powerpoint etc)
and when I try to open the document from the shortcut on the desktop, and not
when you open word, and go to file/open.... very puzzling...
