eMail won't appear on mobile unless attached to PC & Outlook
Outlook is not an email account, the email account is from whoever supplies
that mail to Outlook "Meg" wrote in message ... That chain of action only works with the other eMail accounts I set up on the mobile, it doesn't work for the Outlook eMail account, which ends at a page regarding how many days past to download, the message format and size limit. "DL" wrote: If you are using Windows Mobile 6.1; Select Messaging, the mail account you originally set up should be shown there. Select / highlight that mail account, then MenuOptions......... then tap on the specific account to change the settings "Meg" wrote in message ... I understand that, along with understanding that I screwed it up the first go-round. I use Outlook and Windows everything, everywhere. I'm trying (now) to get back into the Outlook Mobile setup on my mobile phone (with Windows 6.1, etc) and make the appropriate adjustments. How do I get back into the setup for that eMail account (in Outlook mobile so I can adjust the incoming and outgoing servers and account name and password, much as I can do on the desktop Outlook. Or should I just delete the Outlook Mobile eMail account and start over, which, I've indicated, kinda makes me nervous, I don't know why. Is what I wonder now. (Help!) "DL" wrote: Afraid how you set up / edit the settings is down to your mobile, or the software it uses "Meg" wrote in message ... I believe I've sort out that when I set up Outlook on my mobile, I screwed up the settings. Again, the desktop Outlook collects my eMail fine. So I created a new eMail account on the mobile -- this time with the correct settings -- and I am able to receive my business eMail (which also continues, correctly, to appear in my desktop Outlook). So here's a follow-up: Now I know the correct settings. Is there a way into the Outlook Mobile that's already on my phone so I can make an adjustment? If there is, I can't find it. Or should I just delete the Outlook Mobile mailbox and start anew (nervous about that)? Or should I just ignore the Outlook Mobile eMail folder and keep the newly set up folder, but that doesn't really have the Outlook options for collecting my RSS feeds, etc. Plus, it would always give me a cramp, having that extra folder and I like seeing an Outlook icon that represents the folder with messages also in my desktop. A step-by-step here would really be helpful. Again, I really appreciate this venue for sorting through these issues (of my own incompetence). Thank you! Generic eMail from a common, free provider appears as if by magic. But my business eMail (which is linked to the common, free provider) and which moves promptly from the 'net to Outlook 2007 without problem, won't appear on the phone without being physically connected to the PC. Which isn't handy. Everything else with Outlook synched beautifully to the mobile -- my contacts (customized for category, with photos, etc), appointments, holidays, birthdays, etc. using the Sync Center. But the mail won't appear. I'm not a big business with some big business server and I don't need to share Outlook info with others. I just want my eMail to arrive and so far, it doesn't. Is there something I'm missing? I get a bad feeling that I'm supposed to pay extra per month for some additional vendor's software to push my eMail from one place to another. Is that accurate? Thoughts? Any help is appreciated. -- Regards |
