Outlook 2007 crashes on "Calendar click"
I have been battling this for 4 weeks.
Outlook crashes every single time I attempt to open calendar view. I am using echange server account from work on both desktop and laptop. Both started crashing after a series of specific actions on my part. One day I decided to make my life easier, with help of my new Outlook 2007. On my desktop I have generated several new appointments, marked them with multiple categories. Marked some of those private, and generated a new view, where private appointments are not shown. That is where the fun stopped. My laptop (recall that I was working on desktop) had outlook running as well. I have clicked on clanedar, and it crashed. When I exited desktop's calendar and attmpted to re-enter again, outlook crashed. It continues to crash every time on both machines. What gives? Possible causes: Private appointments? multiple categories per appointment? customized view? The first two items would be stored on the server, which would explain why laptop started crashing as well. I have removed "private" using active sync and my mobile. Now working through removing multiple categories as well. Clearly this is a bug. Any ideas? I have: repaired office, created a new profile, same results. |

Milly,
thank you for your reply. I honestly don't know what you are referring to. Is it some small utility option Office has? Outlook 2007 crashes on "Calendar click"
Milly, You are my savior -- just ran "Outlook /cleanviews" -- I am back in
business with calendar! Now, how is it possible that something like that is not described in help files for outlook? What if I didn't know that I may have had an issue with custom view? Just frustrating... Thank you again, Kyryl "Kyryl" wrote: Milly, thank you for your reply. I honestly don't know what you are referring to. Is it some small utility option Office has? Outlook 2007 crashes on "Calendar click"
I'm having the same problem except using the cleanviews switch doesn't work.
In fact I don't think the switches are workingin any instance. I have no problem accessing the exchange calender from outlook web access or entourage 2008. It is only Outlook 2007. I have no plugins etc. ANy way of fiding otu why the switches won't work either? "Kyryl" wrote: Milly, You are my savior -- just ran "Outlook /cleanviews" -- I am back in business with calendar! Outlook 2007 crashes on "Calendar click"
Yeah there is a space when I use it. It just opens Outlook 2007 as usual.
Tried this with a few of the switches. On another note, using outlook anywhere, everytime I open outlook i asks me for my password even though I tick the emmeber password box. I've tried deleting the protect folder only for that to work once or twice, I've removed the account and re-added it from the mail accounts, with the same symptoms. Hope there's some sort of solution. "Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: What happens when you try? the password is never remembered unless you are logged into the network.
on switches, I like to the outlook shortcut on the quick launch toolbar - open the properties page and replace 'recycle' with the switch you need. Did you try office diagnostics?
