Not Responding
A customer uses Office 2003. He complained that when he wanted to save a
Word or Excel document into a sub-folder of a folder, it would take about 60 seconds to navigate down to each folder. The process follows: When he clicks on "Save As", a Window pops up. He then clicks on a folder, then there is no response, after a while, the words "Not Responding" shows up. He waits for about 60 seconds, he can get into the folder, then he clicks a sub-folder, he wants for another 60 seconds, he then can access, then he repeats the process. One can imagine that he is quite frustrated! Any ideas/suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, Doug |

How many folders/items/subfolders in the folder in question? |

Does he have SP1 installed to Office 2003? I had the same problem and
noticed it went away when I upgraded with SP1. Worth a shot if he hasn't applied that. Dian D. It's just within Office applications, Word, Excel, Project, etc. There are
2 ~ 3 folders and a handful of files. Browsing "My Computer" has no problem at all. Any suggestions/solutions are appreciated; "Lanwench [MVP - Exchange]" ahoo.com wrote in message ... Have you considered a driver upgrade?
Open the control panel, display folder, settings tab, advanced button, troubleshoot tab, slide the acceleration down... If this helps, go to the manufacturer's web site and look around for an upgraded adapter driver. -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "Doug Fox" wrote in message ...
