Default Installing Publisher 2003 after Office 2007

We would like to install a standalone copy of Publisher 2003 in addition to
our standard Office 2007 suite. We would like to make use of the wizard
application in Publisher.
Our IT people tell us that it will mess up the registries and cause problems.
Is there a way around this or is the Publisher wizard a thing of the past?

I have most all versions of Publisher installed. My suggestion is to create
a new folder, name it Publisher 2003, install Publisher into the folder.
Should work okay. All my 2003 wizards work fine.
