Default How do I lock certain cells in excel 2007?

My query is as follows :

I have created an excel sheet that automates the billing procedure of my
hospital. It has multiple complicated formulas that i have painstakingly
created in certain cells after hours of hard work. So that if you were to
select the type of room the patient is in, say " deluxe room " the room
charges are slected in the next cell automatically. If you select
"superdeluxe room" the charges in the adjoining cell are incremented
automatically and so on. The other cells also contain charges for various
other facilities like electrocardiogram, nebulization which I don't want to
be modified except only by me.

My friends have immensely liked this software and would like me to design
one for their own hospitals also. My queries are as follows :

1. I want to know how should I block those cells which contain formulas
that they are not visible to any other user except to myself, so that
somebody does not copy that formula and paste it in his excel sheet and
create a template of his own based on my work ?

2. the cells that contain fixed values like charges for
electrocardiogram and nebulization etc should not be modifiable by anybody
except the hospital administration and myself and not any other user so that
the hospital bills remains untampered. How can I password lock individual
cells ? Pl note that other cells in the same worksheet should have the
facility that they can be edited.

Sincerely,

The answer to both your points can be found in the MS help. Search for
"Protect worksheet elements"
The first point is quite simple. In the ribbon select view and in the "Show
hide" area simply untick Formula Bar. The other is quite lengthy so try the
help solution. Basically what you do is select all to be locked and then
unlock those cells that you will allow editing rights to. It won't work
until you protect the sheet. Have a go.
