Problems with copying and pasting images into Outlook email messag
Recently, Outlook (2003 edition) has been giving me headaches when I try to
paste pictures from one message (an old email message) into a new one. This was never a problem before, but now I just get blank boxes instead of the pictures. "Picture placeholders" had been checked...which put red X's in the boxes...But I unchecked that and now I just have blank boxes. If I copy the original image (from paint or whatnot), it will paste and appear without issue. If I try to copy the image from an old email (which is what I need to do to quickly resend work bulletins w/photos), I just get the empty box. Can anyone please help? Thanks. |

hyperlink to the image is broken, maybe you moved the file to a different
folder (if image is local) or maybe the originator of the message store deleted it or moved it (remote site). -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rob Giordano Microsoft MVP Expression "dhabes" wrote in message ... Problems with copying and pasting images into Outlook email me
Thanks for replying, but that isn't the issue. Here is what I'm doing (maybe
that will help to clarify)... I create an email containing text and pictures (pasted from a folder in my hard drive). That email is fine. I send it out (usually CC'ing myself). That is fine. Later, I need to send the same email with slightly edited text, so I copy the entire sent message (or copy from the CC'ed message that I sent myself) and paste into a new Outlook email message. That is where the problem occurs...I just get empty boxes instead of pictures...so it takes me forever to re-paste, crop, etc. on those images. I was doing this for years without any problem until the last month or so. Any ideas? Problems with copying and pasting images into Outlook email me
dhabes,
I have been having what sounds like the same problem. I capture a screen shot and put it on the clipboard, when I paste to Outlook I get the red x but if I paste that same image to a Word doc it is fine. Using Office 2003 and PrintKey to capture the screen shot. It has worked flawlessly for 1+ yrs on this system and I can't think of any settings I would have made to cause this issue. You can get rid of the red x by de-selecting "picture placeholders" under
options (when you're in the opened email window). That, however, still doesn't fix my problems, but hopefully it helps you. I found this and it may be of assistance to you....you will have to show your
hidden operating system folders in order to see these. http://forums.techguy.org/business-a...x-missing.html "dhabes" wrote: You can get rid of the red x by de-selecting "picture placeholders" under options (when you're in the opened email window).
