Mouse stops working in Outlook 2007

My mouse stops working in Outlook 2007. Can't use it at all in the message
body area. In order to get it working I have to close Outlook and wait a bit
before opening. I have searched everywhere and tried the following:

1. Disabling all add ons.
2. Deleted HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Office/12.0/Word/Data key
(several times as it keeps coming back)
3. Tried complete removal/reinstall of office


General system info:
Lenovo T60, 4gb ram with 8gb readyboost drive added
Windows 7 Ultimate with UAC off
Using Office 2007 Enterprise

All current Windows and Office updates as off 12/9/09 have been applied.

I don't have a solution, I just wanted to add that I have the same Identical
issue and have tried exactly the same 3 solutions that "Detroit" has tried.

These 3 solutions are the only workarounds provided from searching for the
problem and found in forums and blog posts. Unfortunately none have worked.

My system:

Lenovo W500
6GB Ram
Windows 7 Enterprise x64
Office 2007 Professional Plus.

Any solution, direction, fix... would be GREATLY appreciated. I am
basically SOL while running Word and with limited productivity running
Outlook.
