I have a valid copy of Office (after I allowed add ons and turned Window
Defender IE watchdog on Add ons off). I can download templates if I go to
the template area but I can't from within Office. I have tried from Word and
Excel. So currently I have a work around by going directly there but would
like it to work from within Office to save the step of having to got to MS
templates. Any ideas?

What version of Office? Do you get any error messages? What is the exact
text if you do?

I have Office Standard 2007. I always get sent through the validation
process. It validates now after figuring out that Defender was turning off
the add ins. It validates however I still get the "piracy" text box that
claim that my copy is not acitvated or valid and will not download the
template. I can go out to the office site and it lets me download outside of
the Office suite but not from within. As a side note, it is not a pirate
copy of Office. I bought it from Best Buy have the box, key, and recipe if I
look for it. It is very frustrating that the authentication thing keeps
coming up. Would the service pack 1 help, I read it but it doesn't seem
likely? Not sure if it is installed either. Do I need to reauthenticate and
how? Ideas?
