Default Can't install Off 2k3 Premium on Win XP Pro

Hi John,

The 2755 error is generally permissions related. The Application Event log
and Setup logs should show what is stopping things.

Hear is an article that may help:

217714 OFF2000: Setup Appears to Stop Responding, Followed by Internal Error
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=217714

From Start Run, Type: D:\Setup.exe /L*V C:\OFF2000.LOG
(Where D is your CDROM drive)

After setup fails, open the log file in notepad and search for 2755. You
will find the file/folder that the System/Windows Installer is not able to
access. Give the System account Full Control to that folder.

Hi John,

I wanted to inform you that I have replied to your thread in the Office
Setup Newsgroup titled: Can't install Off 2k3 Premium on Win XP Pro with
IssueID: 132813904.

The 2755 error is generally permissions related. The Application Event log
and Setup logs should show what is stopping things.

Hear is an article that may help:

217714 OFF2000: Setup Appears to Stop Responding, Followed by Internal Error
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=217714

Often times the System account does not have permissions to some folder.
The Event veiwer should show the exact location.

From Start Run, Type: D:\Setup.exe /L*V C:\OFF2000.LOG
(Where D is your CDROM drive)

After setup fails, open the log file in notepad and search for 2755. You
will find the file/folder that the System/Windows Installer is not able to
access. Give the System account Full Control to that folder.
