winword caused an invalid page fault in module
KERNEL.32.DLL at 0197:bff9db61

Microsoft office 2000 small business...can not open
ducuments this keeps popping up.

There are several reasons for receiving errors starting Word. This article contains the common troubleshooting steps:

If you still encounter errors after working through the troubleshooting guide then please post in the Word Application Errors newsgroup (word.application.errors.)

Be sure to include the version of Word you are using, the patches you have installed, and what you are doing before the error occurs such as typing, opening a document, starting Word, printing, etc.
