Open Excel in 2002 not 2007
I have both 2007 and 2002 installed on my Win XP system. I want the default
to open Excel docs in 2002 not 2007. Had the same issue with Word, was able to fix that. Right clicked on a .doc and chose open with - nav to Programs, Office, Office 10 folder, found WinWord icon, chose that and now docs open in Word 2002. I've tried the same thing using the Excel icon I found in the Office 10 folder, but it never comes up on the list to be able to choose it. Any suggestions? Thanks, Dawnvk |

Open Excel in 2002 not 2007
Since 2007 has decided it wants to be the default, de-register 2007 and
re-register 2002 Close Excel first and On the Windows Taskbar StartRun "C:\yourpathto2007\excel.exe" /unregserver See the space between exe and /unregserver. Then register 2002 StartRun "C:\yourpathto2002\excel.exe" /regserver This process should make Excel 2002 the default for opening files. You may not have to unregister 2007 first but I err on the side of cautiong Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Wed, 18 Nov 2009 10:35:02 -0800, dawnvk wrote: I have both 2007 and 2002 installed on my Win XP system.
