Default Ran out of columns in excel worksheet. How do I increase them?

I ran out of columns in an excel worksheet at column IV. How do I increase
the number of columns? I am running excel 2003.

You replace Excel 2003 with Excel 2007 which supports more than 256 column.

hi
it is not possible to increase the number of columns (or rows). 2003 is
fixes at 255 columns. xl2007 has increase the number of columns to 16
thousand and rows to 1 million+. depending on how desperate you are, it
sounds like it's may be time for an upgrade.

You must have lost a column. :-)
The rest of us with Excel 2003 have 256 columns, not 255.
