OL keeps crashing
OL 2002 SP3,Win XP HE SP1
Hi, Recently, my OL has started just crashing--closing itself (exiting) on its own. At times, I get the report--OL had to close and restart, do u want to send a report, etc.; other times, nothing--just the crash. I have used the repair function, but to no avail. I have run the usual anti-virus, anti-spyware--all clean. I am not aware of any changes in my PC that could have caused this--no new programs installed, etc. Any ideas what I could do? Tx, S |

OL keeps crashing
Hi,
Try to open Outlook using the following command.. STartRunoutlook /safe Check if Outlook closes out. If so, tell me if in the error report we have a field which says 'mod name' Mittu "sat" wrote: OL 2002 SP3,Win XP HE SP1 Hi, Recently, my OL has started just crashing--closing itself (exiting) on its own. OL keeps crashing
Hi,
Tx 4 ur reply. The crashes are intermittent, i.e. they really seem to be random (however, they must occur upon some specific incidence--some process conflict, perhaps, etc.) so I am not sure running OL in safe mode will tell me anything as I would have to have it that way and wait ALL day long for perhaps a crash to occur.... Hi,
If the crashes are intermittent, keep a track of the 'mod name' if it happens again. Mittu "sat" wrote: Hi, Tx 4 ur reply. OL keeps crashing
Hi,
I just installed Office XP on a new PC and each time I open Outlook, it closes on its on after about 3 seconds (its not even listed as an active program when i do contr-alt-del). I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software but I run into the same problem. Interestingly, i can right click on the outlook icon and and enter a menu that allows for setup of email accounts, data files, and users..but I can't get the program to launch and stay active. |

I tried restarting my PC in start mode and the program worked, so I then went
back and weeded out the start-up apps to narrow down who was conflicting with outlook causing it to crash. I had reinstalled Office XP multiple times, even upgraded versions but none of those helped. -- Thanks, DJ "DL" wrote: Have you tried a Detect/Repair, using the CD?
