Dear Sinta:

Using an autonumber for a purpose other than uniquely identifying rows
in a table can be disappointing, even dangerous. Other than as a
unique ID, autonumbers have many side-effects that make them
inappropriate for other purposes which many developers seem to expect
will work well. Would you care to describe what you are wanting to
accomplish? I think you would get much better advice if you do.

In general, when I have an access question, I check out
the site above http://www.mvps.org/access, then ask here
if the answer isn't there.
